Resistance-change devices based on solid electrolytes
Scalable elements that can be switched between widely-separated non-volatile resistance states at very low power are desirable for applications in next generation memory and logic. One potential approach involves the use of solid electrolyte films. A mobile metal ion-containing electrolyte film sandwiched between an oxidizable metal layer and an inert electrode constitutes a device which revers...
متن کاملSolid lithium electrolytes based on an organic molecular porous solid.
A new type of solid lithium-ion conducting electrolytes prepared by incorporation of Li(+) ions into a cucurbit[6]uril (CB[6])-based organic molecular porous solid shows high Li(+) ion conductivity (∼10(-4) S cm(-1)) and mobility (transference numbers, tLi(+) = 0.7-0.8). In addition, the solid electrolytes show excellent, thermally stable performance even after several temperature cycles.

DOI: 10.1002/aenm.201501590 electrochemical stability window, and (3) chemical compatibility with the anode and cathode. In the past few years, major advances have been achieved in increasing the Li ionic conductivity of the solid electrolytes. The state-of-the-art solid electrolyte materials, such as Li-garnet Li7La3Zr2O12 (LLZO) and Li10GeP2S12 (LGPS) have achieved an ionic conductivity of 10...
متن کاملAn Electrochemical Sensor Based on Nickel Oxides Nanoparticle/ Graphene Composites for Electrochemical Detection of Epinephrine
The combination of graphene and nickel oxide nanoparticles yields nanostructured electrochemical sensor formed a novel kind of structurally uniform and electrocatalytic activity material. In cyclic voltammetry studies, in the presence of epinephrine, nickel oxide / graphene composite modified electrode shows a significantly higher current response for epinephrine oxidation. Based on differenti...
متن کاملMemory devices based on mass transport in solid electrolytes
This chapter introduces the concept of low energy non-volatile memory devices based on mass-transport in solid electrolytes. In these devices, information is stored as a change in resistance due to the formation of a metallic filament via the reduction of metal ions in the electrolyte. To show how such elements work, basic solid state electrochemistry and ion transport is covered, along with th...
